Am I Actually The Strongest? – Season 1 Episode 2 Recap & Review

Char Hates Me

In episode 2 of Am I Actually The Strongest?, Haruto is puzzled as he wonders why his father hasn’t pushed him to practise. Later, he finds out that thieves have been a major problem in the border province. Haruto is frustrated with the circumstance and wants it to be fixed. That evening, he leaves to take care of it with Flay. Charlotte notices them soaring. When she enters his room, she discovers a duplicate of him, leaving her confused.

Haruto arrives there while the thieves are in the tower. He asks Flay to set the mansion on fire after he uses his magic to confront and defeat the thieves. He then informs his father that the thieves have been burned by someone else, so as to keep his powers hidden.

Haruto is content that the issue has been resolved when he gets back to the mansion. Charlotte, however, presses Flay about what she saw. Flay brags about her master to Charlotte. She then tells Haruto about Charlotte interrogating her regarding him. Soon after, he discovers Charlotte is watching him. In order to track her whenever she is onto him, he uses his magic to install a surveillance camera on her.

Later, Charlotte is travelling with her mother when the thieves attack them. The surveillance camera alerts Haruto of the situation. He arrives quickly and saves both of them. Although Charlotte discovers that Haruto saved them, their mother is still unaware.

Their father, Gold is overjoyed when Charlotte and her mother return home safely. Charlotte then gives Haruto a hug and tells him how much she loves him. Her parents are touched by this unusual gesture. Flay, however, is left feeling bitter.

The Episode Review

Episode 2 Am I Actually The Strongest? moves the anime’s plot forward. Charlotte and Haruto grow closer during this episode, and she changes her opinion of him from one of an evil-doer to a hero of sorts.

But the anime’s premise isn’t all that interesting. You won’t really be able to connect with any of the characters in this episode because it drags and feels uninteresting. We’re only on episode 2, so hopefully things pick up soon.
