Adoration – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

Dark Mess

Adoration episode 4 starts with Enza thinking about her son, Giorgio. After he told her what had happened, they decided not to tell Vera. However, the police show up the next morning and take Giorgio away for questioning. Vanessa watches from the rooftop as they take him away.

Vera loses her cool and confronts Vanessa, calling her a snitch. However, Vanessa’s parents refuse to open the door and let Vera in. Vera calls Diana to tell her about Giorgio. Diana gets a lift from Claudio and heads to Vera’s place. In a flashback, we see Elena tells Giorgio to leave her alone, and he responds that she is starting to piss him off. In the meantime, Vanessa ends up late for a Giancarlo family event. She arrives just as the police impound Giancarlo’s car.

Elsewhere, the police take a sample of Giorgio’s DNA and start looking into why he was suspended from the rowing team. At the same time, Vera and Dian warmly welcome Giorgio back after the police release him. Manuela drops by to support her nephew and find a way to help.

Her husband suggests they get a lawyer and Giancarlo’s family also arrives. Manuela sends Diana home so the family can discuss Giorgio’s fate. Giancarlo’s parents offer to help Giorgio if he promises he is innocent. Vanessa admits she was the one who told Chiara everything. Giorgio confronts her, and she tells him she knows what she did to Melissa.

Instead of going home, Diana visits Chiara and gives Giorgio a false alibi. She claims she saw Giorgio dropping Elena’s home on that fateful night. By the looks of it, Chiara doesn’t believe her. However, she is shocked when Diana tells her that Melissa and Giorgio are in a relationship.

Chiara heads home early to talk to Melissa, but her niece doesn’t say much. She only says she is no longer dating Giorgio and doesn’t care about giving Elena justice. Later, D’Angelo calls and informs Chiara that the second set of DNA found on Elena belongs to Giorgio. He also learned that Giorgio was kicked out of the rowing team because of his violent tendencies.

Meanwhile, Christian runs into Vera and admits they beat up Ricotta. He also tells her that there is a possibility Giorgio is guilt. Giorgio has no alibi, but Enrico has one. Vera loses her cool and starts screaming at him on the streets. Teresa witnesses this interaction but doesn’t confront her man. After her fight with Christian, Vera heads to the beach and meets Diana. A fight ensues when Diana informs Vera that she gave a false alibi for Giorgio.

Vera worries that Diana’s thoughtless move will only condemn her brother further. When she returns home, Enza tells Vera the things they have been hiding from her. Enza is happy that Vanessa’s dad got them a lawyer and believes this will help Giorgio. However, Manuela is not pleased that her husband is helping Enza and Vanessa got Giancarlo in trouble. She tries to force Vanessa to apologise, and they get into an argument.

Vanessa locks herself in her room and destroys all her clothes. On the rooftop, Giorgio reflects on what he did to Melissa. On the other hand, Vanessa and Giancarlo get into another fight. Vanessa is still grieving.

The next morning, Melissa tells Chiara what Giorgio did to her. At Enza’s house, the lawyer arrives to take Giorgio for his interrogation at the police station. Chiara tells D’Angelo what Meliss told her. During the interrogation, they corner Giorgio and he comes clean about never taking Elena home. He confesses that he got into a fight with Elena on the night she died. Elena got angry when he refused to run away with her.

He wanted to come clean about their relationship, and they started arguing. He denies taking any drugs and says Elena got out of the car and ran to the rooftop of the school. She threatened to jump if he got close, so he left her there and went to return Giancarlo’s car. The police don’t believe Giorgio.

After tearing up all her clothes, Vanessa debuts a new look and asks Diletta for Elena’s job. Giancarlo asks her to reconsider, since he is willing to support her. As they talk, Giorgio calls Giancarlo and they agree to meet at the park with all his male friends. At the park, Giorgio comes clean about his affair and Enrico punches him. He storms off and Giancarlo follows him. In a series of flashbacks, we see that Enrico picked up on the strange flirty vibes between Elena and Giorgio. Christian stays behind to take care of Giorgio, convinced of his innocence.

On the other side of town, Diana admits to Chiara that she lied about Giorgio’s alibi. She heads to the beach and takes a long dive. Claudio sees her and thinks she is trying to commit suicide. They end up getting closer.

At dinner, Vanessa tells her parents she will start working at Diletta’s restaurant. Once again, her mom throws another tantrum, but her father supports her. Manuela is scared that Vanessa is throwing her life away, but her husband insists they need to let their daughter live her life.

Meanwhile, Vera convinces Giorgio to stop reading hate comments online and head to a club. However, they get into an altercation with one of the partygoers who recognises Giorgio. Fortunately, Christian comes to Giorgio’s defense. On the ride back, Giorgio asks Vera to grow up and look after their mom while he is gone. He doesn’t think he will survive jail and Vera suggests he runs away. However, he refuses and promises to prove the police wrong. The episode ends with Giorgio getting arrested the next morning and escorted to a detention centre.

The Episode Review

Although it looks like Giorgio might take the fall and go to prison for killing Elena, I don’t think he did. Still, there is a lot of evidence against him and his lawyer will have a challenging time proving his innocence.

On the other hand, Manuela is one frustrating mother and wife. She is intent on making Giancarlo and Vanessa’s relationship work at all costs. She thinks Vanessa will be happy with a rich man by her side and overlooks what Vanessa wants for her life. At the same time, Vanessa misses her friend and has started dressing like her. Either way, I don’t see her relationship with Giancarlo working.
