9-1-1 Season 7 is finally here, and it has been an emotional cruise, to say the least. If you don’t know about 9-1-1, it is a fast-paced show about the firefighters, paramedics, and police officers of Los Angeles who put their lives at risk to save others. They are the day’s heroes, but each one is going through some personal struggle.
The season picked up where we left off in season 6, and the first three episodes of season 7 take us through the life-altering cruise that Athena and Bobby took. Be warned, this article contains spoilers!
9-1-1 Season 7 Episode Episode 2 [Spoilers]
After surviving the freeway car accident in Season 6’s finale, Bobby thought it would be great for him and Athena to take a break and celebrate their fourth marriage anniversary on a cruise. In episode 1, we see Athena talking to her therapist about her fears regarding the trip. She lies about being scared of going to sea after watching The Poseidon Adventure as a kid. However, she is actually scared that she and Bobby won’t be able to thrive in the quiet. In retrospect, her worries seem baseless as the cruise is nothing but quiet.
In Episode 2, it is revealed that Norman didn’t kill Lola. She was taken hostage, and he is being threatened. By the time things are settled and Julian gives up the USB, Norman is shot, and there is a bomb on the ship.
A storm is also coming, and things are not looking good for the passengers onboard. The bomb goes off while the Captain tries to fix the communication system, but they barely have enough time to abandon the ship when a big wave rocks the ship. The episode ends with a cliffhanger as the lives of the remaining passengers hang on the balance, and help proves elusive.
What to expect in episode 3?
Fortunately, our worrywart, Hen, notices Athena and Bobby might be in danger. She is scared because there is an ongoing hurricane at sea, and no one has been able to reach the ship. Something suspicious seems to have happened on the ship before it went MIA. She tries to tell the Chief, but he ignores her and points out they have no authority to issue a search.
Based on the preview for the next episode, you should take a few deep breaths before plunging into the final instalment of the Cruise ship disaster. Episode 3, titled “Capsized”, sees the 118 team flying into a hurricane to save their Captain and his wife.
It looks as if things go from bad to worse as the 118 helicopter takes a hit, and we can hear someone saying “Mayday! Mayday!” Before the aircraft starts to dive. On the other hand, Athena, Bobby, and the few passengers remaining on the cruise ship are trapped. The big wave rocked the ship, and we even see Julian falling from a high place. It is unclear if he dies from the fall. Meanwhile, Athena watches as Bobby tries to navigate around, but it looks dangerous. One slip, and he is on his way to the pearl gates.
Will 118 make it out alive? Will the 555 signal be heard in Episode 3? Well, buckle up because we just never know what will happen. This might as well be the next Titanic, but let’s hope Athena makes room for Bobby!
