The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a critically acclaimed title known for its excellent storytelling, intriguing quest design, and immersive open world. In it, players control a monster hunter for hire named Geralt. He’s searching for his former apprentice Ciri and hopes to find Ciri before the Wild Hunt does. Like Assassin’s Creed, The Witcher 3 delivers a detailed world with diverse environments and civilizations.

Where Assassin’s Creed has players explore historically realistic settings like Florence and Egypt, The Witcher 3 forces you to traverse lush forests, war-torn villages, and medieval landscapes. Nevertheless, both games harbor realistic and beautiful universes that’ll invite players to absorb all it offers. Both games have phenomenal combat that emphasizes timing, strategy, and mastery of various abilities.

In Assassin’s Creed, you’ll use your stealth and agility to defeat foes. However, The Witcher 3 has players master its sword-based combat system where they must dodge, parry, and use different swordplay and magical abilities to oust their enemies. Mastering both combat systems will leave players rewarded and satisfied.

On top of the wealth of activities each game offers its players to complete, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an excellent adventure title that’s worth your time.

Demon’s Souls

Demon’s Souls is a highly acclaimed game with an emphasis on giving players a challenging world to conquer. In Demon’s Souls, players must venture through relentless and unforgivable challenges in a dark and atmospheric world. Like Assassin’s Creed, this game requires you to overcome formidable adversaries to progress through the game.

The challenge is a bit extreme in this game compared to Assassin’s Creed, but many hardcore players will welcome it. Furthermore, both games contain deep world-building. In Assassin’s Creed, players embark on many historical endeavors that intertwine real-world locales with fictional narratives. Similarly, Demon’s Souls presents players with gloomy locales and different beasts to interact with.

Both games will entice players to explore their environments to the fullest. While Demon’s Souls levels feel more linear in retrospect, the game rewards players who explore every nook and cranny of its multiple locales.

On top of having a complex combat system that’ll force you to analyze enemy patterns and execute precise attacks, Demon’s Souls is a perfect game to play for those looking for a challenge.

Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham City boasts an incredible narrative, mesmerizing visuals, and stellar gameplay. In it, players control Batman as he gets incarcerated in Arkham City, a well-kept prison close to Gotham City. As Batman, you must search for the facility’s warden Hugo Strange and thwart his evil plans.

Like Assassin’s Creed, this game delivers an immersive open world. This world contains many iconic locations from Batman’s universe and features guest appearances by notable villains like The Joker. Additionally, Arkham City contains stealth and combat mechanics that emphasize precision and strategy like Assassin’s Creed. You’ll use Batman’s strength, agility, and gadgets to overcome enemies in satisfying ways.

Furthermore, the world is filled with many missions for you complete. This gives players plenty of activities to do if they develop any ounce of boredom while playing the game.

For those looking for a stealth game that features one of the DC Universe’s best characters, check out Batman: Arkham City.

 Styx: Shards of Darkness

Although this game may look unappealing to newer gamers, many retro enthusiasts cherish this title. It has you control a devilish-looking goblin named Styx who completes different thief and assassin-like quests for his employers. Like Assassin’s Creed, Styx: Shards of Darkness offers stealth-focused gameplay mechanics that asks players to defeat their enemies without being detected.

The enemies Styx encounters in the games show no mercy, so it’s best to carefully plan your attacks ahead of time to avoid problems. Styx has a variety of other methods that make assassinating foes enjoyable too. From his ability to clone himself to his trap-laying antics, taking down foes has never felt so fun.

In addition to having a stellar co-op mode that allows a second player to control one of Styx’s clones, this is a perfect stealth title to play if you want to play something that’s familiar and fresh.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is another Ubisoft title with great characters, a rich world, and fun gameplay. Like Assassin’s Creed, players must guide Prince of Persia’s protagonist through complex platforming sequences involving wall runs, jumps, and precise action sequences. Both franchises offer heart-pumping and fluid movement mechanics that empathize athletic abilities of their respective protagonists.

Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia both offer a unique take on time. In Assassin’s Creed, the Animus technology allows players to experience the memories of their ancestors, giving them the power to manipulate time and rewind their actions. This time manipulation feature allows players to correct mistakes and approach situations from a different angle. Similarly, Prince of Persia’s Prince possesses a dagger that allows him to undo mistakes or trigger specific maneuvers.

On top of having riveting plots that involve characters embarking on historically-rich adventures, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is a perfect game to play after finishing up any Assassin’s Creed game.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is a fantastic open-world RPG, known for its award-winning Nemesis System. Like Assassin’s Creed, this game features wonderful open-world exploration and mission-based gameplay. It encourages players to freely explore its terrain, complete side quests, and undertake main story missions at their own pace.

For instance, Shadow of Mordor contains many viewpoints that’ll require players to interact with them. By doing so, you’ll reveal more of the map. This will remind Assassin’s Creed fans of the synchronization points. This game also delivers phenomenal stealth and combat gameplay mechanics. You can choose to silently attack your enemies or engage in brutal confrontations with them. This mirrors Assassin’s Creed gameplay approach to a strong degree.

The Nemesis system is similar to Assassin’s Creed’s notoriety system too. It allows players to interact with unique enemy characters who remember previous encounters.

From its open-world exploration to its fun stealth and combat mechanics, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is a fabulous fantasy title that’ll appeal to Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts.

Just Cause 4

Just Cause 4 is a great entry in the series and one that shares common ground with Assassin’s Creed. In Just Cause 4, players have the freedom to explore a vast world similar to the Assassin’s Creed series. Both games encourage players to explore the world, uncover hidden locations, and complete various side quests and challenges.

Just Cause 4’s open-world structure gives players enough freedom to play the game in any way they prefer, much like in Assassin’s Creed. This title’s mission-based structure is enticing too. Its main storyline is divided into missions and objectives and players are allowed to tackle the missions in any order they choose, giving them a chance to experience the game differently from others.

Just Cause 4 and Assassin’s Creed also have their characters use a variety of tools and gadgets. In Just Cause 4, you’ll get access to things like grappling hooks and parachutes, that’ll help you traverse locales easier and swifter. In contrast, Assassin’s Creed’s assassins often carry hidden blades that allow them to assassinate targets.

If you’re searching for a game with great action and adventure elements, check this one out.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima is a gritty, samurai-themed title with an immersive world and fabulous gameplay. Like Assassin’s Creed, Ghost of Tsushima offers gamers an expansive world that allows them to freely explore and interact with their environment. The land of Tsushima offers players many hidden locales and side quests for them to discover and complete.

In addition to its compelling world comes its excellent implementation of stealth and combat mechanics. These bear similarities to those found in Assassin’s Creed. You’ll utilize the protagonist’s stealth to sneak up on enemies and silently eliminate them. From hiding in tall grass to causing distractions, you’ll find many ways to be a “silent but deadly” adversary in this game.

This game excels more in swordplay than Assassin’s Creed, but the combat is just as exhilarating in both titles. On top of exploring themes like honor, resilience, and cultural identity in its historical Japanese landscape, Ghost of Tsushima is a must-play for folks who love Assassin’s Creed.

Hitman (Series)

Hitman is what happens when you fuse Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell series together. This game follows Agent 47, who receives an assassination mission from the International Agency. He must murder anyone who stands in their way. Like Assassin’s Creed, this game focuses on stealth and strategy. You’ll need to excel at both if you want to complete objectives and progress.

Additionally, both games feature rich narratives that unfold gradually throughout the game. However, Hitman places more emphasis on stealth and disguises as opposed to Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed features more gameplay mechanics like parkour and historical exploration, unlike Hitman.

Nonetheless, if you’re after an assassin-themed title that gives you great agency and fun gameplay mechanics, Hitman should entertain you.

Thief: The Dark Project

Thief: The Dark Project walked so series like Assassin’s Creed could run. This is a first-person stealth game that puts many FPS games to shame with its innovations. Its storyline is told throughout several missions and players must perform countless actions to accomplish those tasks. Like Assassin’s Creed, one must use stealth and cunning tricks to navigate its locales.

You’ll play as Garrett and will utilize shadows, sounds, and environmental awareness to avoid detection. This aligns with Assassin’s Creed’s approach of letting players use stealth and parkour to carry out their missions.

Furthermore, both games explore themes concerning secrecy and manipulation. In Thief, players will find themselves infiltrating heavily guarded areas and stealing items. This is reminiscent of players navigating areas of political intrigue and conspiracy in the shadows. Both games have a narrative that revolves around subverting authority and exposing their world’s hidden truths.

On top of giving players many gadgets and tools to help them get through the game, Thief: The Dark Project is a worthwhile stealth game that’ll interest Assassin’s Creed lovers.
