10 Best BTS Songs to celebrate their 10th Anniversary | TheReviewGeek Recommends

The entire K-pop industry has gone global and there is one group to thank for the global success of the South Korean pop industry. While fans of other groups and artists may think otherwise, it is public knowledge that despite multiple attempts to put K-pop on the map internationally, BTS is the one group at that time which popularised K-pop and made it a global sensation.

The boy group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) is made up of 7 South Korean members, out of which there are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. The group made its debut under the management agency BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE) on June 13th 2013. Now, as BTS celebrates its 10th anniversary since its debut, there is someone whom they have been thinking about constantly.

BTS has a very dedicated fanbase – ARMY (Adorable Representative MC of Youth) that will go tooth and nail for the seven boys. Oftentimes, BTS has released a number of songs dedicated to the undying love their fans have for the members. Here are 10 songs by BTS that the boy group dedicates to their fans – ARMYs as we all celebrate the 10th Boraversary.

We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal

The song We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal is a part of BTS’ 2020 full-length album, Map of the Soul: 7 (MOTS: 7). In ARMYverse, the number 7 holds a very special place as does this song. The song declares BTS’ love for ARMYs where the 7 members of the boy group tell their fans that they would forever be there for their fans.

The boys released the single in the same year as their 7th anniversary. The lyrics to this one are surely good enough to make fans emotional. However, it is the music video that eventually turned out to be a tear-jerker for many dedicated ARMYs because of its stupendous storytelling emphasising how BTS is not just a boy group of 7 because they have ARMY as its 8th member.

Magic Shop

It is true that many of us go through things in life that make us question our existence and wonder if life is worth living after all. With the single Magic Shop from their 2018 album, Love Yourself: Answer, BTS not only acknowledges this feeling but also gives their beloved fans a solution to cope with it.

The song helps fans understand that BTS has created a safe space in the hearts of ARMYs, a place fans could access anytime they were facing hardships. Using this song, BTS also reassured fans by saying that they were not alone in their feelings of loneliness and nothingness, adding that they too felt such feelings.

The song ends with BTS telling their fans that if ARMY could love BTS with the best possible intentions, ARMYs could love themselves with similar intentions.

Epilogue: Young Forever

The song Epilogue: Young Forever was released by BTS in 2016 as part of their album, ‘The Most Beautiful Moment: Part 2’. While the song in itself talks about how the members felt moments of uncertainty as performers and artists, the members add that they will continue performing because they feel like they can be young forever.

What makes for a special memory with this song is the reaction of BTS members when fans surprised them by singing this song at the boy group’s 2019 Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour.

While ARMYs selling out the entire Wembley Stadium in 90 minutes was legendary as it was, fans also made the BTS members emotional to the point of tears when they sang this single for the members making them tear up on stage.

Let Go

BTS members baring their souls on the 2018 MAMA stage after winning Artist of the Year is one of the most heartbreaking moments for fans of the boy group. However, the song Let Go makes the feeling unbearable as the 2018 single, which was part of BTS’ Japanese album Face Yourself, contains lyrics that mention BTS ready to let go of ARMYs.

In the song, members of BTS say that they are ready to become their own people as they urged fans to use their own wings to fly because the boy group was no longer going to hold on to them. The song is a supposed final goodbye to ARMYs from BTS that thankfully never happened but makes for an emotional listen.

For Youth

Starting off with lyrics from Epilogue: Young Forever, as sung by ARMYs, the 2022 song For Youth is an ode to the BTS fandom. The song was one of the few original tracks that BTS released in their anthology album Proof and is a song in which the boy group wonders what it would be like for them to never have met the ARMYs. The members also recount their days over the last decade and how they grew into the success that they have because of their fans.

Answer: Love Myself

BTS released Answer: Love Myself as part of their 2018 album, Love Yourself: Answer where the boy group tells their fans how, after going through a rough patch in their careers, the boy group are ready to love themselves all over again. The song follows BTS’ journey of finally finding a reason to love themselves because of their fans. The boy group also adds that just like them, the fans should also fall in love with themselves, ending BTS’ Love Yourself era.

Moon (Jin)

As self-obsessed as BTS’ oldest-born steady vocalist claims to be, Jin (Kim Seok-jin) has shown fans just how much he loves the ARMY. The single Moon is featured in BTS’ 2020 album, Map of the Soul: 7 (MOTS: 7), in which Jin calls himself the moon that revolves around ARMY – the earth. The song narrates Jin’s undying love for the ARMYs and in that, he claims to forever revolve around the ARMYs.

Mikrokosmos

This song holds a special place in the hearts of many ARMYs because of the message it sends. The 2017 song Mikrokosmos, from the album Map of the Soul: Persona, sees members talk about a microcosm claiming that every member of BTS and the ARMY are in their own little world.

The song has a celebratory tone to it as the BTS members ask fans to keep shining their lights on the members so they could shine, dream and smile together.

Best of Me

Best of Me is another fan-favourite song that was part of BTS’ 2017 Love Yourself: Her album which is known for its amazing choreography. However, it’s the lyrics of this one that seems like the members are reassuring fans they are the best thing to ever happen to BTS. The song contains lyrics like, “You’re like the whole world to me” which makes every fan feel validated how the members hope ARMYs never forget BTS because they are BTS’ saviour, no matter what season.

Take Two

One of BTS’ most recent songs dedicated to ARMY comes in the form of the 2023 solo release Take Two. With people around the world discussing how BTS’ popularity was dying down due to its military era, the boy group sings a song of reassurance to their fans, claiming that they were just getting started with the many stories that will be unfolding in the next chapter of BTS.
